Embraer and NetJets – NetJets Signs New Deal for Up to 250 Praetor 500

To continue providing reliable global access and exceptional service to current NetJets Owners and their guests, NetJets has signed a new deal with Embraer for up to 250 Praetor 500 jet options, which includes a comprehensive services and support agreement. The deal is valued in excess of US $5 billion, with deliveries expected to begin in 2025, and will be NetJets’ first time offering the midsize Praetor 500 to customers.

Embraer and NetJets: A Decade-Long Partnership
NetJets’ relationship with Embraer dates back to 2010 when the company first signed a purchase agreement for 50 Phenom 300 aircraft, with options for 75 more. Since then, NetJets has taken delivery of nearly 120 aircraft from the Brazilian OEM. In 2021, the companies signed a continuing deal for up to 100 additional Phenom 300E business jets, in a deal said to be worth more than $1.2 billion.
The Praetor 500 jets will be the first of their kind to enter the NetJets fleet. The company has operated Phenom 300 series jets for more than 10 years, and it’s one of NetJets’ most requested aircraft. With this new agreement, NetJets aims to provide an enhanced customer experience by offering a more advanced and modern business jet to its fleet.

The Praetor 500: A Technologically Advanced Midsize Business Jet
The Praetor 500 is a cutting-edge midsize business jet that boasts best-in-class range, industry-leading speed, and unparalleled runway performance. It has a range of 3,340 nm, a high-speed cruise of 466 kt, and is the only aircraft in its category with full fly-by-wire flight controls.

The aircraft is powered by a pair of Honeywell HTF7500E turbofan engines, offering a nine-passenger seating capacity and an NBAA IFR range of 3,450 nm. With a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.83, the Praetor 500 can easily cover long distances while providing a comfortable and luxurious cabin experience.

Exceptional Cabin Comfort and Advanced Features
One of the standout features of the Praetor 500 is its cabin comfort. The aircraft offers the lowest cabin altitude in its class, as well as the tallest and widest cross-section in the segment. It features a flat-floor cabin, stone flooring, a vacuum lavatory, and 150-cu-ft of baggage space, including an enclosed internal baggage compartment. Furthermore, the standard configuration for a Praetor 500 includes six club seats and a two-person divan. In a high-density configuration with only one pilot, as many as nine passengers can comfortably fly on the aircraft.

The Praetor 500 comes equipped with a Collins Aerospace avionics suite, 0ffering advanced flight capabilities and increased safety. Additionally, the aircraft can climb to 45,000 feet, where the curvature of the Earth is plainly visible. Passengers will only experience a cabin altitude of 6,600 feet, ensuring a more comfortable flight experience.

A lower cabin altitude offers additional humidity into the aircraft, reducing the negative effects of traveling, such as jet lag. The advanced avionics and performance capabilities of the Praetor 500 make it a highly desirable addition to the NetJets fleet.

An Exciting Future Ahead
The $5 billion deal between NetJets and Embraer marks a significant milestone in their ongoing partnership. Michael Amalfitano, Embraer Executive Jets president and CEO, highlighted the importance of this strategic partnership in driving business growth for both companies. He also expressed excitement about the future, stating, “After building this successful foundation with the Phenom 300 series, it’s our pleasure to have now signed this monumental deal for the Praetor 500 midsize jet, and we look forward to an even more exciting future ahead.”
As NetJets continues to expand its fleet and enhance the customer experience with the addition of the Praetor 500 midsize business jets, the private aviation industry will undoubtedly benefit from the increased availability and accessibility of cutting-edge aircraft. With a strong partnership between NetJets and Embraer, the future of private jet travel looks brighter than ever.
